The Sonos Move – Battery-powered Smart Speaker.
Like the name implied the Sonos Move was designed for use on the go. With a battery life of over 11 hours, the Sonos Move is ideal for use with or without a power supply. It has a charging base with can be plugged in with a USB-C cable.
Like most home speakers the Sonos Move is equipped with built-in voice control via Google Assistant and Alexa which enable you to control the speaker from any part of your home and adjust things like the volume and make calls.
It is said that the speaker has a volume of about 105 decibels which would be equivalent to having a mini music concert in your room.
The Sonos Move is also ideal for use in rooms with a potential water spray as its IP56 rating means that while it isn’t waterproof it can resist minimum water contact.
You don’t have to worry about clumsiness and dropping the speaker because it is made of a shock-resistant and hard-wearing case.
The Sonos Five – The High-Fidelity Speaker for Superior Sound
The Sonos five-speaker is a dynamic speaker which is equipped with three mid-woofers and three tweeters that eliminate echo and maintains vocal frequencies which ensure that your audio or music remains high quality.
It is also equipped with a phased array that directs sounds to three directions; left, right, and center creating a wholesome listening experience.
When the Sonos Five speaker is placed horizontally, it adjusts itself so that the sound is directed to the left and right instead of one direction creating a better listening experience, placing two Sonos Five speakers vertically side by side causes them to automatically adjust to mono as well.
The greatness of the Sonos Five doesn’t stop there, it has a 3.5mm Jack with which you can connect things like turntables, CD players, and even projectors.

The Echo Dot (4th Gen, 2020 release) | Smart speaker with Alexa
The best cheap home speaker that we’ve tested is the Amazon Echo Dot Gen 4. This small, wired speaker has Amazon Alexa built-in.
This voice assistant delivers a fantastic overall performance and can even hear you if you’re in a noisy room or far away from the speaker.
While it has a dark and dull sound profile overall, thanks to its balanced mid-range, it can reproduce clear and accurate vocals and lead instruments. It’s also compatible with the Amazon Alexa app, which has bass and treble adjustments so you can tweak it to your liking.
If you have a couple of these speakers, you can link them together if you want a stereo pair or connect them to play audio in different parts of your home. Its 3.5mm output means you can connect it with other devices such as your turntables and CD player
Unfortunately, like many small speakers, it struggles to reproduce low-bass, so your mixes lack thump and rumble. It also downmixes stereo audio into mono, which results in a less-than-immersive experience.
It doesn’t get very loud, and there are some compression artifacts at max volume. Still, if you’re looking to save some money, this speaker’s Alexa support and customizable sound make it a suitable choice.
It is a little over six inches which makes it compact. However it isn’t as well-built as the Bose Home Speaker 500, it downmixes stereo content into mono, and it doesn’t have a display screen. It is also not water-resistant.
Bose Portable Smart Speaker: The Bose Portable Smart Speaker is a versatile speaker that has built-in support for Alexa and Google Assistant, and its portable Bluetooth design means you can bring it with you to listen to audio outdoors. However, with a battery life of just over five hours, it isn’t ideal for long listening sessions.
